10 Month Photo

I'm a day late with this post. Was so busy yesterday with the Halloween party that I didn't get a chance to post it.

10 Months old!!

Teeth:  We finally got  a tooth. And a second one is is ready to burst through. I thought the drooling would stop after we got a tooth...boy was I wrong. It's gotten worse.

Eating: His new favourite food is toast. Still loving whatever I give him. He threw his bottle away. Doesn't want it at all. He's down to one bottle of formula at night to see him through.

Sleep: Starting to wake up a bit now that his teeth are cutting through but still really good. I have started putting the really warm sleep-suits on his because no matter how must I tuck him in the blankets end up under him.

Talking: The same as last time. All talk but most of it's babbling. I think he is trying to say jasmin but that is a had one. It sounds like he's saying 'a- min' but I'll take that.

Crawling/ skills : He is crawling everywhere now. He can make his way around our house and nana's house at his dead ease. He's also standing up with the help of anything that he can hold onto; people, chairs, tables. Anything. Clapping hands, giving high fives and shaking hands are all still . Loves to dance and shake him bum bum as jasmin says.

Still a very happy baby and this mama is loving it!

High five for Friday

Linking up today with From my grey desk blog for High five for Friday.

1. The little guy started off the week by crawling for his dad. Something that I didn't see but it made me so happy that the hubs got to see it. He misses out on some of that kinda stuff.

2. Woke up with an awful pain in my side and I thought it was my appendix, again. Thankfully nothing came of it. Thank god! Glad for no hospital trip.

3. Jasmin came home from school today and told me she got to be helper and she get to take a book to school for story time on Friday. Love how she is LOVING school. Happy mamma here.

4. FINALLY got all our costumes sorted for the Halloween party we're throwing on Monday. I'm going as Morticia Addams (my attempt anyway). Going to be great fun with 8 kids and 10 big kids all dressed up.

5. Today is the day the Jasmin gets her holidays for mid-term break. 1 whole week of no school runs or crazy mornings. Bliss!!

It amazes me how every week when I sit down to right this post, that it is nearly always about my kids. Just proves how important their role is in my life. It would be very boring without them.

Happy Friday everyone!!

Christmas fashion post

I know Halloween isn't even over yet but I just couldn't let today pass without posting these little beauties.

You see, for those of you who haven't noticed, 2 months today is Christmas.
And I am just the littlest bit excited about it.

I don't know if the Hubs would wear it... scratch that, I know he won't.
But I think if the kids got it for him he might.

I think I would look rather lovely and festive in this.
How stinking cute is this??

I think we might be starting a new tradition in our house...

Embarrassing Christmas Jumper Photo.

I cant wait!!

When Hubs is away....

The hubs is away at the moment and life in our house is a little different when he's not here.
This is what goes on while he's gone.

When Hubs is away,
I stay up way too late.
I spend too much time on pinterest looking for cute birthday party ideas.
I don't dress the bed.
I don't cook a big dinner.
I treat myself to Chinese. (comfort food)
I get to watch whatever I want on TV.
I have to single mom bedtime. (not fun)
I try catch up on my blog work. (major fail here)
I have the whole bed to myself and ALL the blanket.(amazing)
I go around the house checking all the doors are locked and the window are closed. (boogie man)
I ring him 10 times a day.
I clean up all the mess (that I've made and ignored while he was gone) 2 hours before he comes home.
I cuddle up to his pillows cos they smell of him and I miss him.

I think it pretty safe to say that our house and life is better when we are all together, as a family.

Hurry home Hubs. xx

Happy hump day!!

Show and Tell Monday : Shopping

I'm a day late with this cos my stupid internet decided to go and die on me yesterday.
But, better late than never.

Linking up with From Mrs to Mama for Show and Tell Monday. Today we're talking about shopping.

1. Tell us your favorite stores to shop at.
I do most of my shopping at Penneys. They have really improved their lines over the last number of years. I shop in Awear, River Island and Vera Moda too.

2. What are you "signature pieces" to wear.. your go-to outfits?
I'm a jeans girl. I wear them if all else fails. Jeans, a cute top and heels for going out. Or with a vest top, cardigan and flats for day wear. I LOVE jeans.

3. Show us your style through pictures {of you or pinterest finds}.

Click here to see more of my favourite fashion.

4. Show us your favorite celebrity style icons

5. If you had to spend money on clothes or home items, which would you choose?
Before I had a family I would have chose clothes all the way but now I have to say I seem to put everything before myself. So the house would win.

6. Show us your favorite accessories.
I don't ever wear alot of jewelry. Not in an everyday basis. I always wear my wedding g band and my engagement ring and a pair of white gold diamond earrings the hubs bought for me. He's got amazing taste in jewelry. And I love scarfs. Really need to start wearing more on the stuff I have.

7. Tell us in one sentence your philosophy behind shopping. {What makes you buy an item}
If I know I need it and I know that I'll wear it, then I can buy it. Trying to stop the impulse buying.

Happy Monday!

High five for Friday

Linking up today with From my grey desk blog for High five for Friday.

1. Monday started off the week with the best thing ever. The arrival of my little guys first tooth. After 9 and a half months it finally cut through. WOOP!!!

2. I got my cd and voucher I won on the radio in the post today. Happy days!! Must stock up on Christmas biscuits and sweeties.

3. Today the little guy decided to stand up on his own for the first time ever. He's really on a roll this week. Finally got my Halloween decorating finished. if you wanna have a look click here.

4.Today my amazing little girl stood up for one of her friends. Somebody had push her friend so she walked over to the girl who did the pushing, who was a foot taller than her and told her not to do it again. So proud of her.

5. Tomorrow Miss Judy is coming for the weekend. She is one of the funniest women I know and she swears just about as must as I do. So we get on great. Time for some chatting and a ride out on the horses. Bliss!!

Happy Weekend!!!

Halloween decorating : The tour

Halloween decorating is well under way here and I love it.
I didn't go too mad cos the hubs isn't a Halloween fan but I did just enough for the kids.

These are my Halloween Luminaries that J and I made.

You can see how we did them here.
They look even cooler than I had hoped lite up.
The bats on the lamp are cut outs that came in a pack. Just stock them on with double sided tape.

Our bedroom door. Might leave that there all year round.

The bathroom door. If there's a man in your house you know that this is necessary. :)

A felt "Boo" sign for P's door.

And one for J's door too. (cute ,right?)

The front door.

My home made spider wreath. (tutorial to come)
There was a 'Boo' sigh in the middle but the stupid wind blow it off before I got a photo.

All the front windows have stickers and banners on them.

J made this in Montessori last year. Very talented. (must take after her mother. hehe!)

My balloon spider. Check out how I made this here.

The back door. A little boring. I'm gonna work on that.

These little guys used to light up last year but stopped working.

I'm gonna pop some of those battery operated tea lights into them to get them going again.
(p.s. I made those flowers)

My new additions this year. Some Halloween bucket candles for my mantel.

Can't have Halloween without a tombstone.

Picked this up in Lidl. Fab right?

This is Jack. He's the newest member of the family. He's not a big eater.

And yes, He's wearing a princess crown.

Some cobwebs on the kitchen window.

The sitting room mantel.

The table inside the front door.
The blackboard slate I used before here and the little pumpkins can be found here.
The pumpkin plate I got in supervalu for 50c and the candle for €1.
Halloween bargins all round.

And last but not least, the giant spiderweb on J's window.
Made it using black crepe paper and tape.

And that's it.
Maybe I went a little overboard. Oops!
I have nailed down J and P's costumes but mine is still in the making. And I mean 'making'. Mother and I will be sewing up a storm over the next week to try get our costumes done. Just a quick stop at the charity shop first for some supplies.

Leave a comment or link in the comment section so I can see some of your spooky Halloween decorations.

Happy Hump day!!

Project Pinterest : Loo roll bird feeders

Linking up with AP over at I love you more than carrots for project pinterest.
This link-up has got me to make more things off pinterest over the last couple of weeks then ever.
Well done AP.
Go over and link-up.

This week I made "Loo roll bird feeders"

Here is what you need:
The inside of the loo roll
Peanut butter
Bird seed
A plate
A knife

First put some of the seeds on the plate.

Then cover the loo roll in the peanut butter

Next roll it in the seeds.

And there you have it.

The beauty about these is you don't have to hang them with string.
You just have to slip it on a branch and the birds can feed straight away.

I think the birdies will love these once the really cold weather come in.

Happy pinning everyone!!
