11 Months!

11 Months. Where is the time going? We are counting the days to when he will be 1 year old now. DAYS!! crazy.

Anywho! Here are the stats.

This little guy is not a photo baby. He does not like the camera. Unless he's eating it or trying to get it off me. So this is the photo I got of him.

Teeth:  We have two teeth and they arrived between 9 and 10 months. Nothing since but drool, drool and more drool.

Eating: No more formula for this guy. All cows milk and loads of food. Can't complain. Must easier on mamas purse. :)

Sleep: Still sleeping like a champ. Had a few nights where I swear he was having a bad dream. Do nearly one year olds have bad drams?? Serious question!

Talking: Loves saying hi and A-dat (what's that?). very cute. Loads of mad babbling too.

Crawling/ skills : He is crawling everywhere now. He can make his way around our house and nana's house at his dead ease. He's also standing up with the help of anything that he can hold onto; people, chairs, tables. Anything. Can make his way walking from one side of the sitting room to the other using the couch and chairs. Very impressive!

Can't believe the next one of these will be titled 1 year old.

Crazy!!

Happy Weekend.

Happy 9 year anniversary Hubs. Can't wait to celebrate 9 more and then some.

Crafty Creations : Christmas tree book

I saw this idea of couple of years ago in a Christmas home magazine and I loved them but wasn't totally sure how I would go about doing it.

Then my daughter came along and all crafting went out the window. I was so tired busy loving her that I forgot about them. Then I saw them on pinterest and yet again the creative juices were flowing and I had to make one. (dam you pinterest)

Now I will warn you these are not as easy as they seem. I mean their not hard to make but you do need patience and that is something I am sometimes lacking. (I know.. Shock!!)

Here's what you have to do:
First take the cover off the front and back of the book.
Next fold the top corner of the page down so that the top of the page is in line with the side of the book.
Next, fold the same page again to form a tall skinny triangle.
Then fold up the little bit that's sticking out at the bottom.
Repeat, Repeat, Repeat.

And here is how it turned out.

Add glitter and diamonds and whatever else you have hanging around to make it festive.

Special Christmas Delivery!

I want make this Christmas extra special for the kids. Jasmin is older now and is really getting into the magic of Christmas and the whole gift giving thing.

Were going to be getting a few special deliveries in the door this year and I can't wait to see the look on her face when she sees them.

We sent our letter off to the north pole this week so one of these will be arriving any day now.

I also found this on Pinterest and I love it. I think every child would love a letter from Santa. I know I would have.
The other think we've done for thew past 3 years is get a video message from Santa. She loves it. You can get these from this website. The PNP - Portable North Pole Console.

It's important to embrace the magic while we can. These years go so fast and I want to hang on the the magic of Christmas for a long as possible.

How to... Balloon animals.

For entertainment for my daughters birthday party I wanted something that people would remember. Something that not everyone would have at their parties. But it also had to be affordable ( I was on a budget).

I found this amazing pack of balloons to make balloon animals but I have a huge phobia of balloons bursting. I know! Your thinking that I'm crazy for sure. But I swear, if I see one of the kids squeezing a balloon it send me into a panic. Maybe I am a little crazy.

Any way, back to this pack I found. I thought I would never be able to do those. But then I saw the instructions.

They were the easiest things to make ever. Not only did I rock with the kids but the Mom's wanted to know how to do it. One even wants me to make them for her kids party.

So here it is. For all you Moms and Dads would wanna rock at your parties.

Sorry for the wonky photography. And I'm pretty sure that you can get those balloons in most joke shops.
I'm going out to buy some more of these for over Christmas.

I would love to see your animals if you ever make any. Leave a link in the comment section so I can have a peek.

Happy Hump day!!

Tangled Birthday Bash : Hey, That's Pin-tastic!

Linking up today for Hey, That's Pin-tastic! over at I love you more than carrots. An amazing link-up where you make, make, create or decorate something you have pinned on Pinterest.
Today I'm talking about my Tangled Birthday Bash

This past week in our house has been a big week. My daughter turned 5!
She wanted to have a Tangled birthday party and where do you go when you need inspiration... Pinterest.

I found loads of ideas on how to do a Tangled party and make her birthday, In her words, "best party ever". I also wanted to spend as little money as possible (i'm trying to be frugal not cheap) but make it fab at the same time. I think I succeeded.

I'll be doing more posts on the birthday this week so check back if your looking for some cheap and cute ideas.

For now here are some photos of the Birthday bash.

I have to thank Molly over at Stilettos and Diapers for the idea of the photo props. Check out her little man Mustache Bash here. You can find the links for the props I used here and here.

Found this guy on Google images and printed it off.

I found a printable for these gorgeous cupcake toppers here. I also used them to match up the party hats too. Just printed them on card and cut them out.

Marshmallow trees. Cute and yummy!!

These are water balloons that i sowed together. She got such a surprise after school when she saw these.

My masterpiece of a cake. I made it! I even shocked myself at how good it turned out.

Happy Birthday Princess!! Love you.

If there is anything you want to know about anything you saw in the post, let me know. Just leave a comment and I'll give you the details.

Don't forget to check back over the coming week where I will be showing you how I made the backdrop and the bunting.

Happy Pinning!!

Christmas Angle Ornaments : Hey, That's Pin-tastic!

Last Christmas Jasmin ans I made salt dough ornaments to give to the neighbours with their Christmas cards. Just something small to say "Merry Christmas". This year we decided not to make more salt dough so I had to hit Pinterest for Ideas and I found these little beauties. Simple and cheap and easy to make.

Here's what you'll need.

  • Butterfly paperclips
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon
  • Beads
  • Toothpick

First use the toothpick to clean out the hole in the bead.

Next cut your ribbon and thread it through the bead. Pull it half way through.

Then put the loop of the ribbon through the center of the clip.

Pull the other end and the bead through the loop and pull tight.

Tie a knot just above the bead to hold it all in place. Then tie a knot at the end of your ribbon to hang it.

And there you have it.

Angle ornaments.

Happy Pinning.

Show and Tell Monday

Linking up with From Mrs to mama again today for Show and Tell Monday.
Today were talking about all things cold.

1. Tell us what you like to do when it's cold outside.

Sit by the open fire drinking a big mug of hot chocolate. Bake loads of yummy goodies. Go out for long rides on my horse. Watch all of The Santa Clause movies over and over again. I love them. Play Christmas songs so load that the neighbors can hear while I decorate the house. Take loads of pictures while I do all of the above.
2. Tell us some of your favorite "winter" recipes.

I love to bale over the winter. Eve's pudding, thumb print cookies, Vanilla cookies and apple pie are just a few. Ill do blog posts on them when I start making them. My favourite dinner/side dish over the holidays has to be my Nan's 'spud stuffing' that we put it the turkey  I really can't wait for it.
3. Show a picture of something that makes you think of the cold.

This is the road to my house 2 years ago at Christmas.

4. Tell us /show us some of your favorite accessories/outfits for the winter.

This is what i wear for most of the winter doing horses or going for walks. I swap out the wellies for uggs or riding style boots and add a scarf.

5. Tell us if you had the option of snow or no snow, what would you pick?

We had snow 2  years in a row and it made it very hard to get around. I live on a hill and it's very hard to get up home in the snow. But saying that I would love snow this year. Jasmin loves it. It makes everything so pretty. And I'm really looking forward to making a snowman ans snow angles, sledging down our hill and having a snow ball fight with the hubs. He loves it really.

Sorry I'm a day late. Internet troubles. :)

More then just a Mom Meme

Kate over at Kate takes 5 is doing a cool link-up about how us Moms are far more than just moms. I hate it when people look at me and see 'just a Mom'.

I have done a lot more then be a mom. Now being a mom is properly one of the biggest things I've done in my life. But before I was a mom, I was very big into my horses and still am but being a mom means I don't have enough time to spend with the 4 legged love of my life.

This is Buck and for the last 10 years this guy has looked after me,.minded me and taken me on some of the best adventures in my life. He is my best friend and I would be lots without him. When I'm all stressed out, he is the one I go to and we head off and he sorts it out.

This is what I used to do every single Sunday for the winter months with this guy.

I am hoping that somewhere in the near future I will find time somewhere to get back to doing this as often as I used to.

Head on over to Kate takes 5 and check it out.

Happy Friday everyone!

Pin-tastic/Crafty creations : Homemade party favors.

I'm linking up with I love you more than carrots for "Hey, that's Pin-tastic! I'm a little late with the link-up but as the saying goes, " better late than never".

Jasmin's 5th birthday is coming up soon. Like in 6 days but her party isn't for 11 days and I wanted some party favors to send home with the kids but I wanted something different.

Then I saw this idea on pinterest where I could make some cute party favors and use up all those bits of broken crayon around the house.

First, chop all the crayon bits into smaller bits. Try not to use too many dark colours cos they turned out like knobs of poop.

Next put them into a silicone mold. I used an ice-cube tray. It didn't say it was ovenproof but it did say it was dishwasher proof. I figured that the dishwasher get quite hot so it should be ok in a low over.
I was right! Thank God!!

Stick them in the over at 100C for about 5 minutes. Check them then cos you might have to top them up. Check them every 5 mins or so. You don't want them o melt too much.

I think they turned out fab and so did Jasmin.
Can't wait to see what everyone else thinks.
Happy pinning everyone!!

One of those weeks!!

Have you ever had one of those weeks where, if it could go wrong, it did go wrong?
Or if it could break, stop working or blow up, it did?

Well I had one of those weeks last week.

Now nothing blew up, well except my mind from everything that happened.

Jasmin was on mid-term so I had loads of things planned for Halloween. We had a party on Monday and it went great. Eventually. I was late getting up that morning. The alarm never went off. Power must have cut out in the night and the clock never reset. No biggie. Just had to rush a bit.

Went outside to start the car to get it warm for the kids. It was COLD!! Only problem was... It wouldn't start. Now, this is the car that was in the garage to week before getting fixed. The car that had new spark plugs fitted, to help it start and go better and now it was dead. No way would it start. Not even for hubs. "Ok, don't panic", I said. Loaded everything for the party, we were having at my mom into the hubs car, Moved over 2 car seats and headed down.

An hour and a half later then I had planned, I started baking and making treats. I was so stressed out and busy making games, that i forgot to check the time. Guests started arriving and I wasn't dressed. No face paints or anything. :o( On the plus side the party was a hit. Everyone loved it! If you wanna see how the party went, click here.

Hubs got a car from one of our friends so I was able to get around but the car is still not fixed.

The next few days were a mix of me forgetting to bring my bag to town so I couldn't pay for the shopping. Embarrassing! Forgetting my bank card so I couldn't pay my car Insurance (I had to drive 10 miles home to get this. Not happy!) My microwave stopped working. I never realized how much I use my microwave. I'm lost without. Thought I lost Jasmins inhaler, my phone, the house keys, the yard keys, the list goes on.

To round the week off, I think I might have sprained my thumb or wrist yesterday hunting. It is killing me!!

I not saying my week was all bad. We had some great time with the kids at Halloween parties and friends houses. I did also manage to get most of the things I needed to pull Jasmins birthday party together.

I am hoping that by writing this post that the universe will see that I have had my run of bad luck and will send me some good luck this week.

As i was about to publish this post, the laptop died. It wont turn on. Not so much as a buzz. I am so aver this bad luck thing. I just hope the IT guy can get it back on so I can save all my photos.

Universe are you listening?? I need some good luck.

That is all.
