Thankful Days Photo Challenge

Happy Friday Friends. I'm sharing something a little different today. It's still one of my favourite things but with a little twist. Last year I did #30thankfuldays2014 on instagram and facebook. It was my way of remembering what I have to be thankful for in my life. I loved checking the hashtag and seeing what everyone was thankful for. We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in Ireland but I do my own little thing in our house.

Now that my kids are getting older, they can take part a little more. I have these branched in my hallway. They get decorated with every passing holiday. Right now there are felt fall leaves, acorn bells (that I made and never shared, oops) and mini felt Halloween figures that I also made.

Once Halloween is over, the branches will become 'Our Thankful Tree'. We'll cut out leaf shapes on coloured paper and write down things that we are thankful for. More about that later.

Anyway back to the photo challenge. Each day from November 1st, I'll be sharing a photo on my social media accounts with the #30thankfuldays2015. I'm inviting you all to join in. It's never a bad thing to remember the good in your life and what you've got to be thankful for.

I hope that you will join me again this year and share a little positivity around. Share what makes you happy. What makes you thankful. It can be anything. Nothing too big or small.
Feel free to share the photo around and invite anyone you think will enjoy the challenge.

Have a great weekend!

Our favourite kid friendly Halloween movies

We love our family movie nights in our house. Popcorn, chocolate, big fire on and a good movie. I've got so many Christmas movies as does everyone else but today I'm sharing our favourite Halloween movies.

Halloween is my second favourite holiday. I lave decorating the house and carving pumpkins. We've watched a few of these movies already. Some I've got on dvd and some are recorded on the tv. Tesco have a great selection at the moment and they're only €5. That's a bargain right there.

My favourite is the Addams Family. I've loved it since I was a kid. I wanted to be Wednesday Addams when I was younger. The kids are loving Monster House and Scooby Doo. We're sitting down to watch Casper later. It's a classic movie that the whole family can watch.

*******
Last year I did a photo challenge called #30thankfuldays2014. I'll be doing it again this year and all the info will be up here tomorrow. You can find out about it over on Instagram too.

Hope you are all enjoying midterm and Halloween celebrations.

What are your families favourite movies? Don't be shy. Let me know in the comments below.

Halloween Party Games round-up

It's that time of year when all the scary and spoooky goblins get together and party like its going out of fashion. I love a good party and nothing makes a good party better than party games and activities. We're having a little get together on Halloween night with bonfire sparklers and we might even get to see some fireworks.

I've rounded some of favourite games and activities that I like to do and a few new ones to try on the night like the bowling games. I love the sweet twist on the hanging apple game. Who doesn't love donuts, right?

All the links are just below the picture.

And because I LOVE carving pumpkins here is my top carving tips post for those of you that haven't seen it yet. We'll be carving ours over the weekend and enjoy them over the midterm break.

Nature Walk Crafts

Hands up who loves Autumn??
ME!!
I love the colours of the leaves, the crisp air, the due drops on the spider weds and the beautiful jewels that mothers natures brings with her in Autumn.
We collect conkers, acorns, leaves and pine cones when ever we get a chance. The kids love searching for the biggest ones and we really enjoyed making things with our latest finds.

This is just one example of what you can do with Nature walk/scavenger hunt finds. If your looking for something to help the creative juices going on your walks check out me FREE Autumn scavenger hunt printable {here}

We made these little guys using some of what we found. Acorns, chestnuts and matches. You could use toothpicks if you don't have matches. I used a metal skewer to make the holes first to make it easier for the match sticks to go in. Then we drew the faces on with a sharpie. We had hours of fun making all kinds of things.

Now, go get your wellies on and get outside with your little ones and start collecting.
Adventure awaits!

Life Lately {I'm still here}

Life has been a crazy mess with the last three weeks. I've not been able to get on the computer to blog and just about to keep up with things on my phone. You see, three weeks ago I woke up and when I stood up to get on with my day, I was falling around the place like a drunk mess. I was the scariest thing that I have even experienced. This went on for days. I won't bore you with the silly details but after lots of tests, bloods and wires stuck to me, it turns out I've got vertigo. Vertigo SUCKS!!

{miss J stole this pic of me when I was resting. cheeky!!}

When I get a bad bout of it I can't move. Lying down or sitting up, everything spins. And as for looking at a computer screen, forget about it. My poor eyes couldn't focus on anything. But I've got it sorted now, for the most part and I'm back at it. The kids have been great too.they have been bringing me drinks and snacks when I can't get up and tiding up their toys.That stopped once I get back on my feet though. Typical kids, right?

I've got some lovely posts that I've been working on when things were holding still. We collected lots of autumn jewels {conkers, acorns, beautiful leaves} and we made some pretty cool things you can all do too.

If you want to keep up with us on a more daily basis head on over to Instagram. I'm on there quite a bit { i swear I don't have a problem} and would love to connect with my readers.

Have a great week friends!
